Some woodwork finally in place

February 6th, 2008

James & I went by on Sunday 2/3 to look at the house and saw some fun new wood in place!

Here’s looking down into our basement from the front door area…

Schedule Delay!

February 4th, 2008

We knew it was coming, and our first delay has occurred. We had to email the sales rep to get the info, as the website just showed a one week delay starting next week for all items after the 1st floor framing. (I will update our calendar within the next week or so) Here’s the update:

Weekly Update

There was slight delay in schedule due to waiting for the inspection required from the township. Received OK from inspector to proceed with construction and framing is scheduled to begin on Monday.

Apparently, the schedule is just bufferred by the week. The actual time delay isn’t really known yet!

Went by at lunch today to check progress

January 30th, 2008

Not much has happened. It rained all day yesterday, so I doubt they did anything. There is a green layer they appeared to be finishing today right on top of the concrete foundation. I put a few pics up in the Photo Gallery.

Marissa took some new pics!

Event Calendar Updated!

January 23rd, 2008

The event calendar on the right is now updated, and I will continue to keep updated :-)   to match the calendar events the builder has estimated times for.

Foundation uncovered! Wahoo!

January 23rd, 2008

You can definitely see a difference with the actual foundation of the house showing. They took the foundation “walls” off yesterday, Jan 22nd.

I also added all the pics I took on 1-19-08 & 1-23-09 to the gallery.

Foundation walls set!

January 21st, 2008

We had some pretty major progress last week!

They set the foundation walls on Friday, 1/21/08! They covered it to protect it from the cold (even tho the curing concrete gives off heat!).

Next step: Remove Foundation Forms. (Hopefully tomorrow, 1/22/08!)

Excavating & Laying the foundation

January 16th, 2008

So, even more exciting than STAKES is FOOTERS & foundation! By the way, why do they have to call it EXCAVATING? Just to make it sound special I guess. It really just means building out that big hole in the ground where your house is gonna go ;)

Seriously, who knew that having footers was going to be THIS exciting!

We officially have a driveway layed out… here is our driveway so far! (Remember you can click on these to make them bigger)! p1000050.JPG

Here I am standing on the edge of our “Driveway” and you can see the hole in the ground from a distance. I know, VERY exciting ;)

There’s a man in the ground, working on our foundation….

And finally, our foundation FOOTERS!

Foundation, Finally

12/30/07 – Exciting updates! We’re a bit behind ;)

So my mom comes home one day end of December and says, you have stakes on your lot. James and I say… WHAT? STAKES!? LETS GO SEE!!!!! (Yes, we are special!). So here are some pics!

I’m standing on the left side of our lot, on our neighbors lot…looking across the lot.
The crane is the other end of our lot (somewhere around there!) ;) 123007 stakes

Next, these stakes outline where our house is going to lay … YAY! Stakes

I posted up more pictures of our cabinets and flooring in the gallery….. the below is also a pic from the flooring website, plus some guessing on my part, on how our kitchen may look (with our darker countertops and our flooring, and the stainless steel appliances of course).
